Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in Taos, NM is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a contract position. This role supports the speech-language pathologist in delivering therapy services to students with munication disorders, contributing to their academic success and overall development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing speech and language therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist
- Conduct speech and language screenings and progress monitoring for students
- Prepare materials and document student performance and therapy outes
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student munication goals
- Maintain confidentiality and ply with relevant school policies and standards
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Experience working with children in a school setting or similar environment
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders and therapy techniques
