Title: Physical Therapist – Inpatient Rehab
Location: Taos, NM 87571
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 5x8-Hour (08:00 – 16:00), Monday–Friday

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Provide physical therapy services in inpatient rehab, acute care, outpatient clinic, and orthopedic settings.
  • Treat a wide range of conditions: fractures, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgeries, hip and knee replacements, low back pain, sciatica, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis*, neurological conditions (stroke rehab, Parkinson’s*, MS*, nerve palsy*), pelvic floor training*, and lymphedema management*.
  • Perform assessments (AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, sensory response, pain, body mechanics, vitals) and develop/adjust treatment plans with documentation including evaluations, goals, discharge planning, and reassessments.
  • Utilize equipment such as gait belts, hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, wheelchairs, rolling walkers, supplemental oxygen, and hospital beds.
  • Caseload: approx. 10 visits/day; patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response.
  • Billing knowledge required: Medicare A/B, Medicaid, Commercial, Private Pay, Worker’s Compensation.

Required Qualifications:

  • NM state license and national license required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience (must include orthopedic and complex comorbidities).
  • EMR: Evident (experience required).
  • Patient ratio: 1:1.
  • No travel experience required.

Preferred Skills/Certifications:

  • Lymphedema certification, manual therapy, pelvic floor training, postpartum care, neuro/ortho rehab, vestibular, women’s health, sports medicine.
  • Modalities experience: E-stim, TENS, ultrasound.
  • Strong skills in patient/family education, home exercise programs, and safety/injury prevention.
