Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available at a high school in Ranchos De Taos, NM. This contract position spans the academic school year and offers a schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The primary focus will be supporting high school students in the special education program, with a preference for candidates who have experience or expertise in math instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to high school students with special education needs
- Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) aligned with student goals and state guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal special education regulations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience teaching high school students, especially in math-related subjects
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and maintain accurate records
