Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in a high school setting located in Arroyo Seco, NM. This position offers a contract for the duration of the school year, providing a structured environment to apply specialized skills in supporting high school students with special needs, particularly in mathematics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique learning needs
- Deliver specialized instruction in math and related subjects for high school students with disabilities
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to ensure success
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with high school students, preferably with a focus on math instruction
- Strong understanding of special education laws, guidelines, and best practices
- Ability to create engaging, differentiated lesson plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Additional Details:
- Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)

- Current caseload focuses on high school special education, with math as a preferred subject area
- VOCO (voluntary overtime compensation) is not being accepted at this time, but opportunities may arise in the future
