Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher specializing in high school education, with a focus on math, to support diverse learners. This role is ideal for educators passionate about fostering inclusive classrooms and enhancing student success through tailored instruction.
Location: El Prado, NM
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Duration: School Year (NSY)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for high school students with special needs, particularly in mathematics.
- Adapt general education lessons to meet students varying abilities and learning styles.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure cohesive instructional strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching plans to ensure academic growth and skill development.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievements and concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with special education regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification.
- Experience teaching high school students, with emphasis on math instruction preferred.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and assessment practices.
- Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
